Cement majors post higher shipments, India

Major cement companies in India have recorded higher sales in Jan 2005. The Ambuja group has recorded a growth of eight per cent at 12.57 lakh tonnes. The group has recorded a growth of five per cent in production of 12.52 lakh tonnes during the month. Associated Cement Companies (ACC) has recorded a growth of 7.6 per cent in dispatches of 15.05 lakh tonnes. The company has recorded a growth of 5.2 per cent in production of 14.94 lakh tonnes in Jan 2005. The Aditya Birla group has recorded a growth of6.15 per cent in dispatches of 24.24 lakh tonnes. The group has recorded a growth of6.94 per cent in production of 24.48 lakh tonnes during Jan 2005.
