Cement prices inching up, India

The price of cement has gone up by Rs5-10 per 50-kilogram bag across the various regions. The trend is likely to continue till monsoon. However, the price rise is not likely to affect the construction costs. ACC raised its cement prices by Rs5. Prices have gone up by Rs10 per bag to Rs150 in Tamil Nadu. In Kerala, cement prices have increased by Rs5-8 per bag to Rs165. Cement prices have touched Rs170-175 in Mumbai in the trade segment compared to Rs155 in Oct 2004.
