Cementir, which completed the deal to acquire Aalborg Portland Cement at the end of October, has moved quickly to extend the leading position in white  cement that came with the Danish acquisition.  A €7.5m deal has been  concluded that gives an entry into the manufacturing of white cement in  China by the purchase of the Anqing White Cement plant in Anhui.  This is  the larger of two plants operating in that location and has an annual capacity of 0.1Mt.  Plans already exist to double capacity at the  Anqing White Cement works, a move that would make the plant count among the  top three producers of white cement in China. This further expands Aalborg  Portland Cement’s white cement manufacturing base in Asia, where it is  already active in Malaysia and in Sinai.
