SHC restrains Army from interfering in cement company quarry

Karachi: Sindh High Court Friday restrained Army officials from interfering in mining activities of Pakland cement limited in lawsuit for injunction against interference by defendents on mining concession area. Plaintiff Cement Company contended that it were awarded mining lease for 30 years in respect of 3061.3 acres of land at Pipri area Karachi in term of mining concession leased on August 19, 1981. The cement factory, it stated, was established keeping in view of feasibility and availability of raw material to excavate from mining concession area.    The contention of plaintiff was that without any notice, portion of lease land has been included in area allotted to Army, who is interfering in mining activities of plaintiff and restricting it to work in its lease land.
