Consumption rises 2.67Mt in July, Indonesia

Indonesia’s cement consumption rose slightly by 1.8 per cent to 2.67Mt in July this year from the same period last year.

Data at the Association of Cement producer (ASI) showed that cement exports, however, rose sharply by 29.7 per cent to 849,289t YoY in July.  Cement sales, therefore, totalled 3.49Mt in July 2004 up from 3.25Mt in the same month a year before. Cement consumption in the first 7 months of this year totalled 16.48t and exports totalled 4.44Mt bringing total sales to around 20.93t up from 19,731t in the same period last year.
