Since the Dubai government moved to cancel import duties on cement in early August, between 4,000 and 5,000 tonnes of cement have been shipped to Dubai. The government cut the duties and other handling and storage fees to support UAE construction companies. Cement prices surged from US$52 to US$87 per tonne in May, but have now subsided to US$76 per tonne on improved supply. Published under Cement News
