Turkish cement manufacturer and retailer Adana Cimento has employed 33 people to work at its clinker and cement production lines, it was reported on July 27, 2004.  The company said in a statement that the move was aimed at increasing the capacity utilisation rate due to the increasing demand on both the local and and international markets.

Adana Cimento, part of the cement division of Turkish army pension fund Oyak, has allocated 4.4 trln Turkish lira ($3.0 mln/2.5 mln euro) for modernisation and environment projects in 2004. The cement producer said in early 2004 it targeted an output of 3.7Mt and sales of 2.4Mt of products in 2004. The company, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2004, plans to produce 1.764Mt of gray cement, 63,474t of white cement and 1.919Mt of clinker in 2004.
