Romania – Holcim Romania to invest 40m euro in run-up to 2006

Holcim Romania will be investing 40m euro in environmental protection measures by 2006. The company’s key environmental protection objectives include the reduction of atmospheric emissions and the use of industrial waste to safeguard natural resources.

For 2004, over 20m euro is slated for further modernisation works in the company’s cement works as well as launching new ecological concrete stations and modernising the old ones, according to Holcim Romania’s CEO Kurt Habersatter.

Further investments will be made in the areas of environmental protection, alternative fuels and raw materials, occupational health and safety and social projects.
