30 June 2004

FLSmidth has landed another large order in Iran. This one is for a new cement production line for Shahroud Cement Company which is located about 400 km east of the capital of Tehran in the Semnen province. The approximately EUR 22m contract covers a production line which is to produce 3,400tpd  of cement and is scheduled to be delivered by the spring of 2006.

The production line will be built at an existing cement plant which was supplied by FLSmidth in 1994. The plant is predominantly owned by the local population in the area.

The scope of the contract includes all main machinery, ie an ATOX and two UMS mills, plus a pyroprocessing system comprising a five-stage preheater, a ROTAX-2 kiln and a 3x5 SF Cross-Bar cooler. The scope also includes components and systems to be supplied by F.L.Smidth’s product companies, viz. two gear units from MAAG Gear, electrostatic precipitators from FLSmidth Airtech, and storage and conveying equipment from FLSmidth Materials Handling.

In addition to the contract with Shahroud Cement Company, F.L.Smidth has recently landed other orders in Iran for supplies of cement machinery and equipment to Fars Firouzkuh Cement Company at a value of some EUR10m and Hegmatan Cement Company at a value of some EUR 7m.
