Pakistan Steel exports slag to UAE

Pakistan Steel exported 30,000t granulated slag to Sharjah UAE as raw material for cement industry, and another similar quantity of material would be shipped in next few days. A contract to export 10,000 tonnes coke breeze of 0-15 mm size to Malaysia, South Korea and Japan was signed on June 9, 2004. Additional 30,000 coke breeze was in pipeline for export through local firm global commodities, said Chairman Pakistan Steel Lt. General Abdul Qayyum (rtd) while addressing managerial staff Thursday at Mill premises in Karachi. He said discarded coke breeze after reprocessing was being exported for the first time in the history of Pakistan Steel, which will not only fetch additional financial benefits, but also improve general cleanliness and curb dust pollution in plant area.
