Jordan Cement Factories Company (JCFC) has started works to restore the cement exports unit in Aqaba, southern Jordan, at the cost of over $1.0m, it was reported on June 10, 2004.  The company is targeting exports through the Aqaba Port to foreign markets and especially to markets in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, following the increased number of orders it has received, JCFC director general, Samir al-Bairaqtar, said in early June 2004. The company is also considering a campaign to promote its products locally and overseas.
