Significant YoY profit drop for cement producer Holcim Slovakia

Producer of white and gray cement and concrete, Holcim Slovakia a.s. achieved revenues last year from the sale of its own products and services at the level of SKK 3.39bn, which meant a YoY growth of 6.8 per cent. Operating costs grew by 27 per cent YoY to SKK2.426bn.

The company generated added value on a YoY basis 13.8 percent lower, amounting to SKK 1.069 billion. Net profit of the company dropped y/y by one-quarter, which in financial terms represents SKK 111.12m. The reason behind this fall was the acquisitions of three new concrete plants, its merger with company Holcim Beton, a.s., as well as investments into the modernisation of a rotary kiln in Rohoznik. Total assets for the Slovak Holcim grew by 40 per cent on a YoY basis to SKK 5.854bn, out of which fixed assets represented SKK 4.569bn. Its own resources covered Holcim’s total assets at almost 36 per cent.
