Chinfon receives licence for expansion

The Chinfon Cement Hai Phong Company has received licence from the government to invest another US$162m in a factory expansion.

Located in the northern port city of Hai Phong, the company aims to increase its production to 2.8Mta of cement, according to a Chinfon official.

The expansion will include a second cement production line, which will double the capacity of Chinfon’s current 1.4Mt output.  With the new funds, Taiwan’s Chinfon Group’s investments in the company will total US$450m, said the official.
