Associated Cement Companies Ltd (ACC), India’s second largest cement producer, is likely to raise prices this week due to strong demand, a senior executive told Dow Jones Newswires Tuesday.  "Looking at the April sales performance of most companies, demand has been good...there is scope for a price rise," said the executive.  However, he didn’t specify how much the hike was likely to be.  Cement prices in Mumbai are currently at 155 rupees ($1=INR44.85) per 50 kilogram bag.  The executive said cement demand is picking up due to increased activity in the construction sector.  ACC sold 1.38Mt of cement in April, a growth of 14 per cent over the year ago period.
