New rules for cement imports in Iran

Imports of cement by the private sector and in packages which clearly show where the cement has been produced will be free and without any fixed price by the government in the current Iranian calendar year.  The Director General of the Iranian Commerce Ministry in goods supply and distribution affairs, Hussein Modarres Khiabani confirming the news said: ³The cement factories (only) are authorised to sell their production within the framework of the floating prices.² He noted that the annual rate of cement consumption growth in Iran stands at 10-12 per cent adding: ³Based on the statistics and in view of the increase in the volume of civil and construction projects, the rate of cement consumption in the current year is expected to hit 33Mt." Most of Iran¹s cement is imported from China, India, Turkey and Armenia, Khiabani said. Published under Cement News
