Danish cement and mineral processing equipment maker FLSmidth signed a 56 mln euro ($68.7 mln) contract with Algerian Cement Company (ACC) for the delivery of cement production line equipment, FLSmidth said on March 18, 2004. The contract includes the delivery of a raw mill with a material handling gear, a pyroprocessing system and two cement mills. The machinery and equipment will be used for an additional 5,000 tonnes per day (tpd) cement production line to be established at ACC’s plant at M’Sila, northern Algeria. FLSmidth is currently completing a similar cement production line at the M’Sila plant, which at present is being tested and the handing over of the plant to the customer is expected to take place during the spring of 2004. The new production line will be identical to the newly established line and will be based on the same calculations and drawings. The contract includes the delivery of a raw mill with a material handling gear, a pyroprocessing system and two cement mills.
Most of the machinery and equipment will be delivered in 2004 and the production line is planned to be operational in the summer of 2005. The project will be implemented in co-operation with Egyptian building contractor Orascom Construction Industries (OCI), which was also in charge of the construction of the first production line at M’Sila. The new order proves that the standardisation and fast delivery of the company’s products will further strengthen its position as a preferred supplier on the market, Joergen Huno Rasmussen, CEO of F.L.Smidth, said.
