Gujarat asks cement firms to cut prices
10 March 2004

To keep the feel-good factor going, Gujarat government has asked cement manufacturers in the state to reduce price of the commodity by Rs10 a bag.  In other parts of the country also, manufacturers were asked to reduce prices, The Time4s of India reports. A bag of cement now costs Rs 10 less in Pune.  Prices have been rising since September-October. In Gujarat, prices are up by nearly Rs 30 a bag.  Demand is apparently also not picking up. Cement manufacturers inked a pact in November last year to reduce production. Published under Cement News
