Turkish building materials producer Konya Cimento plans investments of 5.335 trln Turkish lira (US$4.05m) for 2004, it was reported on March 5, 2004. According to the business plan, Konya Cimento is to produce and sell 905,000t of cement, 570,000 cu m of ready-mix concrete and 580,000t of aggregates. The company plans to produce 753,000 tonnes of clinker, of which 71,000 tonnes are to be sold to third parties. Konya Cimento reported a net profit of 16.9 trln lira (US$12.8m) for 2003, compared to 11.4 trln lira (US$8.7m) for the previous year. Its consolidated net profit for 2003 totalled 17.1 trln lira (US$13m). Konya Cimento is a subsidiary of French cement producer Vicat Group which has another subsidiary in Turkey, cement producer Bastas Baskent Cimento. Published under Cement News
