Omani cement price increases 50 per cent
17 February 2004

The price of cement in Oman has recently increased by 50 per cent, officials said. The price has been deliberately hiked by local traders of cement and building materials, although the demand on the market is usual and can be met by local production, Omani cement manufacturing companies said.

The cement producers in Oman presently sell their products to the local traders at 2003 prices despite the increase of cement price in several foreign countries and have called upon the traders for fast regulation of the market prices.
