30 January 2004

The management board and the independent trade union in Croatian cement maker Dalmacijacement, a subsidiary of UK producer and supplier of materials, products and services in the construction industry RMC, signed a collective labour agreement for 2004 on January 29, 2004.  The agreement envisages a 4.0 per cent increase in the net monthly salary of employees which stood at over 6,700 Croatian kuna (US$1,057) in 2003. The net salary of employees does not include the salaries of managers. The salaries in Dalmacijacement will increase in 2004 for the seventh consecutive year since RMC bought the company, Dalmacijacement management board president Vinko Janjak said.  Through the agreement for 2004, are preserved all earlier obtained rights of employees, including a Christmas bonus, equalling one monthly salary, jubilee bonuses, a Christmas bonus of 400 kuna (US$63) for children of employees and supplementary health insurance.
