PT Semen Bosowa has started the construction of its 1.2Mta cement factory in East Java with a groundbreaking ceremony in the presence of Indonesia’s Industry Minister MS Hidayat , the Jakarta Post reports.

This is the company’s third cement plant and will be located in Banyawangi. The company plans to serve the eastern parts of Java in addition to Bali and Nusa Tenggara.

“PT Semen Bosowa will have a positive impact on those areas by stabilising cement prices through improvements in the efficacy of their distribution there,” Minister MS Hidayat said during the inauguration of the construction project.

Bosowa’s two other plants in Maros, South Sulawesi and Batam, have a combined capacity of 3Mta.
