A cement grinding plant being constructed by Jammu and Kashmir Cements Ltd (JKCL) in northern India is set for completion in July, the state government has said.

Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, Minister for Industries and Commerce, recently toured the state-owned JKCL site where work continues on the 300tpd grinding plant and associated packing facilities. After visiting all sections of the plant, the Minister expressed satisfaction on project work to-date.

The grinding plant is being is being set up at Jammu in the Samba Industrial Growth Centre of SIDCO. Clinker will be sourced from JKCL’s Khrew cement plant and the use of flyash is also planned.

RK Razdan, managing director of JKCL, told the minister that the plant will meet the requirements of government departments for public sector construction activity as well as private sector demand in the markets of the Jammu province.
