Iran's cement output is projected to reach 80Mt by the end of the year, the secretary of Iranian cement industry employers, Abdolreza Sheikhan, has said.

The country produced 44.5Mt of cement in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on 21 March, up two per cent YoY.
 
The output amounted to 6.19Mt in the seventh calendar month of Mehr (23 September – 22 October), IRNA reported. Some 32.7Mt of cement were supplied to the domestic market in the seven-month period.

Iran exported 9.673Mt of cement and clinker in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, up 41 per cent YoY. In the previous year, Iran exported 13.65Mt of cement and clinker. Iraq was the major importer of Iranian cement.

Iran plans to increase its cement output up to 85Mta by the end of the next Iranian calendar year.
