India: Zuari Cement picks up 'Outstanding Company in Cement' award

Zuari Cement announced it won the "Outstanding Company in Cement Sector" Award as part of the Fourth EPC World Awards 2013. In a release, the company said it is a recognition for excellence.

Now in its fourth year, the EPC World Awards is the foremost in its category that acknowledges the achievements of the companies and individuals from infrastructure, construction and real estate sectors.
Zuari Cement (Italcementi Group) has a total cement manufacturing capacity of 6.2Mta in India, which includes two manufacturing units at Sitapuram and Yerraguntla, along with a grinding centre at Chennai.

Zuari Cement is developing a project of 3Mta cement plant in North Karnataka and a large grinding unit is also being erected at Sholapur in Maharashtra. A cement terminal is being developed at Kochi, Kerala.

A captive power plant at Sitapuram with a capacity of 43MW augments the power capabilities of the company. In line with group's global focus on quality and environment, Zuari Cement's manufacturing units are ISO 50001:2011, ISO: 9001 and ISO: 14001 certified.

With over five per cent market share in south India and sales of over EUR249m in 2012, Zuari Cement said it has chalked out ambitious plans for the future. This includes strengthening its presence in Maharashtra, Orissa, West Bengal and northeastern Indian markets.
