Akkord completes second phase of Gazakh plant

Akkord has announced the successful completion of Phase 2 of its Gazakh Cement plant with the participation of the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

Last week, Gazakh Cement started clinker production of a new line which is expected to reach its full capacity of 2500tpd by October.

Akkord’s first 2500tpd production line in Azerbaijan was launched in July 2013. According to the company’s development plan, design capacity of the plant will be increased to 3Mta by 2017. The company plans to hike capacity to keep apace with rising domestic requirements as well as serving nearby export markets.
