Kenya: Bill Lay reappointed chairman of EAPCC

President Uhuru Kenyatta has reappointed Bill Lay as chairman of East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) for a three-year term.

The Head of State, through the latest gazette notice, extended the term of Mr Lay and backdated it to November 7 when it had lapsed.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1)(a) of the State Corporations Act, I, Uhuru Kenyatta... re-appoint William Lay to be the chairman and director of the East African Portland Cement Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the November 7, 20l4,”  the gazette notice reads.

Mr Lay, 62, previously served as CEO and chairman of General Motors East Africa for a decade and retired in 2011 to join CMC Motors where he served for two years until he resigned in April last year.
