22 May 2015

Lafarge North America Inc is investing in a cement storage facility and terminal on a new rail spur on the east side of Williston, North Dakota, amidst growing demand in the Dakotas. New Frontier LLC is the developer of the East Valley Rail project.

The facility will support 30,000t of cement storage moving more efficiently into the area and strengthen Lafarge's network of terminals in the Dakotas and serving the Bakken area. A concrete dome will be built to assure environmental containment of the cement.

Lafarge's cement is used in the area to support the oil and gas industry with soil stabilisation for roads and extraction sites as well as well drilling.
