10 July 2015

Cemex announced that it has awarded the ecoperating Plus certification to Torre Cosmopolitan, a sustainable and innovative commercial building, located in Tijuana, Baja California, México.

The ecoperating Building Certification accredits buildings, during their design, construction and/or operation phase, with notable sustainable features and performance above the market standard.

Cemex recognises projects that save energy, water and reduce the environmental impact associated to construction and buildings. Torre Cosmopolitan receives this certification, in addition to acquiring the ecoperating Plus level, due to an improvement in energy efficiency in the building of at least 20 per cent, when referenced against the strict ASHRAE 90.1-2010 standard of the USA.

Torre Cosmopolitan is a regenerative project in the heart of Tijuana. With a holistic approach, it combines bioclimatic design, urban planning, innovative construction techniques and materials, as well as advanced engineering in order to be a landmark sustainable building in the region.

Torre Cosmopolitan has different features that allow it to be more efficient in terms of water and energy consumption. These are some of them:
