India: Dalmia eyes larger slice of the Goan market

Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd is looking to expand its market presence in the western Indian state of Goa having recently commissioned its Belgavi cement works in neighbouring Karnataka.

To increase its market share, Dalmia Cement has started strengthening its dealership network in the state through talks with 15 dealers initially, local press reported. The company will provide marketing, technical and logistics support.

Dalmia Cement’s senior management visited Goa on Friday to announced the completion of its new 2.5Mta Belgavi plant as well as to meet with dealers.  “Our cement brand was already present here but through our latest manufacturing facility we expected to easily service Goa customers,” said Pankaj Madhukar Phadnis, deputy executive director, sales.
