Azerbaijan: Cement production drops by 30% in year to May

Cement production in Azerbaijan has fallen by 30.3 per cent for the five months to May 2016, Azer press reports.

The national statistics committee put the decline in output down to lower public and private sector spending. Production of concrete fell by 60 per cent, to 177,000t.

Azerbaijan produced 829,000t of cement in the first five months of the year. Clinker imports also fell by 55 per cent, to 140,500t, with prices remaining unchanged at US$46.60/t.
