Nepal: Sarbottam Cement released on to the market

Sarbottam Cement Pvt Ltd (Saurabh Group) has launched its OPC and PSC cement in the Nepalese market. Sarbottam Cement, which is an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company, has production capacity of 40,000 bags per day, the Himalayan Times reports.

Sarbottam Cement produces cement in a 1200tpd plant about 50km from Lumbini. The works, which was built by FLSmidth in 2014, includes a vertical roller mill (VRM) which enables the production of cement with a fineness of up to 4500 Blaine.

The plant claims several firsts in Nepal, including the installation of the first ATOX VRM, the first ECS and intelligent motor control centre (IMCC) in the country. An additional first is the company's thermal power plant, which provides a 24h power supply back-up. The production process also includes a modern Cross-Bar cooler and 3.15x47m kiln. The plant has the lowest coal and power consumption of all Nepalese cement producers, according to Sarbottam Cement, which has categorised its products as 'green cement'.
