Azerbaijan: custom duty on cement increases

Imported cement into Azerbaijan is subject to a higher customs duty as of 3 November. The Cabinet of Ministers announced that the new duties will be valid for two years.

According to the amendment, customs duty has been set at US$0.07 for 1kg of Portland cement, aluminous cement, slag cement, superphosphate cement and analogical hydraulic cements, coloured or uncoloured cement, finished or clinker cement and gypsum.

Previously Azerbaijan applied a fixed import duty of 15 per cent of the value of the imported goods.
