Paolo Zugaro appointed general manager of Cementir Holding

The Board of Directors of Cementir Holding SpA on 11 May 2017 appointed Paolo Zugaro as General Manager of the company. Effective 1 May, Mr Zugaro is also Chief Operating Officer for the entire group.

With a degree in electrical engineering from Tor Vergata University, Rome, Mr Zugaro (52) has occupied a variety of managerial positions of increasing responsibility both in the Caltagirone Group and in the Cementir Group starting from 1997, Cementir said in a statement.

In particular, he has been head of the Nordic & Baltic Region of Cementir Group, CEO of Aalborg Portland A/S and CEO of Unicon A/S.

In his most recent position as head of the East Mediterranean Region, he was CEO of Cimentas AS in Turkey, Vice President of Sinai White Portland Cement Co SAE in Egypt, and CEO of Recydia, a company which operates in the waste and recycling management business in Turkey and the UK.
