Environment Manager

This Environment Manager leads the environmental management and implementation of the Alternative Fuels and Materials programmes for a number of major industrial manufacturing and mining sites in Eastern Australia. This is a pivotal and highly visible role in the business and you are an important member of the senior management team.
You are responsible for overall environmental management, managing the supply, handling and use of Alternative Fuels and Materials for the various sites, meeting regulatory requirements and managing stakeholder needs. You are also tasked with the management and development of a team of environmental specialists.
Other responsibilities include monitoring the various sites environmental compliance performance by leading reviews of key operational parameters & developing & implementing improvement plans. Liaising with Government and community bodies with respect to the alternative fuels programme as well as compliance monitoring and reporting are also key functions.
You lead the development strategies and plans for optimal use of alternative fuels and materials. You contribute to maximising the efficiency and development of operations by participating in management planning, operational reviews and providing qualified technical response to matters of operational performance.
You contribute to maximising operational efficiency and performance at the various sites by evaluating technological and strategic developments and recommending appropriate improvements or growth projects. Implementation of these growth-oriented projects and the management and implementation of new technology is also a key function of this position.
You have a background in a similar role in a heavy industry such as steel or cement, mining, industrial manufacturing, or perhaps from the waste collection and recovery industry, where there has been a strong environmental focus.
