    Cement mill Residue

    Sir,

We have a ball mill for cement grinding. The residue on 45 mic is 15 to 16 % for blains value of 3400 cm²/grms, any idea how to reduce the residue to around 10 %.

    Dear Mr Jatin,

You have not mentioned circuit of your mill.I assume that it might be a closed circuit cement mill. Best possible way to reduce residue on 45micron is by increasing circulation factor across the mill. The other way is to decrese cut size of your dynamic separator by increasing cage rotor speed.

    Hi Jatinder,

You could increase the speed of your separator rotor, i.e. increase recirculation load. But you may then experience an excessively high blaine value. The best way to make a balance on mesh passing and blaine is to play around with feed tonnage and separator rotor speed.
