    Flame Length

    Hey everyone;

     What is the length of the flame inside the kiln? how can we determine the length of the flame? i know that alot of factors affect the length of the flame like swirl, primary air pressure, ID fan and etc. but Is there any formula collect all these factors to determine the length of flame (Gas, Oil, & Coal)?!!

    Best Regard

    No, there is no formula that I know of. With thermal imaging cameras you can get a temperature reading along the axis of the kiln and see where the temperature falls to give you an estimate.

    There are many book on combustion.

    Re: Flame Length

    Hey Gentlemen,

    I read recently that the flame length can be calculated by this formula 5* Di (inner diameter of kiln). Is it correct? if the answer is yes, is it valid for all types of fuels like gas, coal, etc. ???

    Re: Flame Length

    Saprina, this is a general formula and can't be used at all to determine the length of flame, Try to read the questions in this forum about the flame, they may give you good information.

    Good luck
