khd pyro jet burner

    khd pyro jet burner

    Dear Friends

     Any body having information about pyro jet borner i have some question

    1. what is the normal position for this burner inside kiln.

    2. how can we increase and decrease its burning zone or coating area.

    3.what swirl and jet air is normal.

    To answer you i need what below :-

    - Type of fuel

    - Kiln nominal dia

    - Q m/h of your primary air with p and rpm

    - type of grate cooler and the Nm3/ kg clinker of

    - fuel ratio Main burner and pc

    - Temp of oil at the burner ( if oil )

    - kiln rotation ( direction )

    - swirl air rotation

    - kiln t/day production

    - O2 at the kiln inlet

    - tip clearance for axial air and for swirl air ( circular gaps )

    - tip out side dia

    - primary oil Q and p and secondary oil too with your kiln long

    - type of cement .

    i am sending u burner data which i have

    - Type of fuel > coal

    - Kiln nominal dia > 4.2

    - Q m/h of your primary air with p and rpm >?

    - type of grate cooler and the Nm3/ kg clinker of >2.0>iknpendulum

    - fuel ratio Main burner and pc >40-42main 58-60cal

    - Temp of oil at the burner ( if oil ) coal

    - kiln rotation ( direction ) >from cooler anti clockwise

    - swirl air rotation ?

    - kiln t/day production >4400 upgradtion before 3800t/day

    - O2 at the kiln inlet >less than 3

    - tip clearance for axial air and for swirl air ( circular gaps ) ?

    - tip out side dia ?

    - primary oil Q and p and secondary oil too with your kiln long ?

    - type of cement >opc

     -kiln rpm max >4.0

    - kiln length >64m

    - swirl air>120mbar

    - jet air.>715mbar

    - coal convaying air >21mbar

    this data i have yet i am trying to find but i didnt find in manual.

    Dear Mr. Shahzad

    coal firing involves a single pipe burner through which the mill carrying air together with entrained coal are injected at a

    tip velocity of approximately 80M/sec. Tip velocity must always be substantially greater than the flame propagation velocity

    which may be up to 25M/sec. Flames produced by coal nozzle velocities in excess of 80M/sec are susceptible to severe

    instabilities. The pipe is usually narrowed near the tip to minimize parasitic pipe losses and to convert the flow into the desired

    static pressure. For indirect firing, multi-channel burners of various designs are employed. One annulus is used for conveying

    pulverized fuel from the mill and one or more separate streams are used to supply primary air for controlling the flame

    PF conveying air =  3.8%

    Total primary air (axial+swirl) = 4.3 %

    Axial velocity, M/sec  = 400

    Swirl velocity, M/sec = 150

    When the angle of burner is being adjusted one must know that the heat radition from material bed to the fuel will speed up the fuel preperation and thus combustion , the more the burner is directed to the material bed , the eccess of secondary air which is not participtate in combusition at that point and which would draw the heat from materials and delay the sentring process , the reaction of fuel and econdary air in case of flame to close to material will be confinde to the remaining ariea of flame coning surface which will slowing down the combusiton .

    The burner must be set at the small angle to the kiln axies and sligtly directed to the material

    My best sugustion to use the regtangular sectors method to set your burner position inside the kiln .

    > pyro jet burner is high momemnt burner we are facing the probleum that we failed to

    increase its burning zone or coating area our burning zone is maximum 14 m and after this

    we have high temp around 400deg.

    > its position is inside kiln 525mm is this position is correct

    Dear Shahzad

    Kiln rings are sections of heavy coating, usually in the burning zone, though sometimes also near the back of the kiln, which can grow to restrict both gas and material flow and eventually force shut-down. Conversely, ring collapse causes a flush of unburned material. Ring formation in the burning zone is commonly attributed to operational fluctuations though a low coal ash-fusion temperature or high mix liquid phase will increase the risk 

     Early detection is possible with a shell scanner and rapid reaction is essential. Such ring growth may be countered by varying kiln speed or by small movements (10cm) of the burner in and out. Rings at the back of the kiln are usually associated with volatiles cycles, particularly excessive sulphur at the kiln inlet. It is evident, though of little help, that rings are structurally more stable in small diameter kilns.

    the most concentrated the heat transfer the highrer the thirmal load on refractories the shell temp. should be observed  the short flame have to be used IF sufficintely thick coat has been formed this will protect the the sintering zone , depending upon raw material proprties could give your sintering zone thick or thin coat and they are often reduced reduced by very high heat radition So you can used the short flame just when you be sure that your material tendes to coat in sintering zone even under intens heating .

    If material dosen`t show tedency to coat with long slim flame must be chosen .the airia ratio of flame surface and inner kiln shell must be reduced to lower the amount of heat transfer to the shell . You can use the long flame to sinter large lumps of material and low flux containt in material for example make sintering zone difficult .
