Does anyone have any good reading material (articles, excerpts etc) that would help me understand in detail what happens inside the kiln in relation to the various stages of converting raw meal to clinker. Thsi would include the various phase formation and also coating stability. Thank you.

The best source of such material would be to enrol on the CemNet Cement Kiln Chemistry course, which covers these topics. There is a course currently running which is only in its second week.

Alternatively use the International Cement Review article research section of this website.
