CSN reports stable quarterly cement performance

Brazil-based cement producer CSN said 1Q21 net revenue for its cement division reached BRL277m (US$50.9m). Brazilian steel and cement maker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional's (CSN) 3Q16 results improved in comparison with the year-ago quarter, primarily due to higher sales volume in the mining segment. Brazilian steelmaker CSN is considering a merger with its subsidiary CSN Cimentos, Business News Americas reported. Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN)announced its results for the 3Q13 and 9M13, posting a record net revenue of BRL4.7bn (US$2bn) in 3Q13, 15 per cent up on 2Q13. CSN plans to invest in new capacity, Brazil

Brazilian steel major Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) plans to invest BRL1bn (US$491m) to set up four cement facilities in the state of Minas Gerais which would increase the company's capacity from 2.4Mta to 5.4Mta. Currently the company plans to set up three integrated cement plants and a second clinker unit, adding to its one at Arcos which began operations in May 2011. The new plant is to have a capacity of 6500tpd, according to reports by Brasil Economico.
