Shiva Cement inaugurates Sundergarh mill

India-based Shiva Cement , part of JSW Cement , has inaugurated its new cement plant in Sundergarh, Odisha. The new plant has an overall capacity of 1.05Mta as well as an additional 0.27Mta of cement capacity. Parent company, JSW Cement, announced plans to increase its installed capacity to 25Mta, up 47 per cent, in October 2022.

India’s Shiva Cement has reported turnover for FY2021-22 of INR34.65m (US$433,491), down 88 per cent YoY, primarily due to the suspension of plant operations on the back of ongoing project activity. Shiva Cement sees net revenue down 8%

India’s Shiva Cement has reported a standalone net loss of INR58.6m (US$803,778) in the 3QFY20-21, compared to an INR61.4m loss in the year-ago period. Net revenue declined 7.6 per cent YoY to INR70.1m from INR75.9m. However, operating expenses also fell 12.1 per cent to INR90.1m.

Shiva Cement receives approval for 1.32Mta project

India’s Shiva Cement (JSW Cement) has now received approval from the state government of Odisha to add 1.32Mta of clinker capacity and 1.05Mta of cement production capacity in the form of a new facility in the Sundargarh district. The project, worth INR15.23bn (US$207.88m), received clearance during a High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting on Wednesday.

India’s Shiva Cement has announced plans to set up a new 4000tpd clinker unit and 1Mta grinding plant. The total cost of the project is expected to reach INR15.3bn (US$208.02m), with the ground-breaking ceremony expected to take place on 22 October 2020. The company also reported a net loss of INR62.6m in the quarter ending September 2020, compared with a net loss of INR62.3m in the year-ago period. Net sales declined 6.5 per cent YoY to INR52.3m, according to the Business Standard.
