Sinoma to expand Lucky Cement's WHR capacity

Pakistan’s Lucky Cement has signed an agreement with Sinoma Energy Conservation for the expansion of its two waste heat recovery (WHR) units in Pezu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The capacity of the two plants is expected to advance by around 4MW. The companies have worked together since 2008 on the original WHR lines at Pezu with a generating capacity of 10MW each, as well as the 15MW Karachi EFG power plant project and a waste heat boiler extension in Karachi.

Sinoma Energy to supply Athi River plant

China’s Sinoma Energy Conservation has signed a KES25.5bn (US$251m) deal to power Devki Group’s Athi River cement plant and its Mombasa-based raw steel processor. Sinoma announced in regulatory filings last week that the kiln waste-heat project at the new Athi River plant and the other to power the steel plant in Kilifi will be built over a period of 20 months to produce a combined 53.5MW.

Cemex Holdings Philippines Inc subsidiary APO Cement Corp has signed an agreement with Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd. of China to build and operate a 4.5MW waste-heat-to-energy (WHTE) facility in Naga, Cebu. Fauji Cement Company Ltd (FCCL) has inaugurated a 12MW waste heat power project at its factory in Jhang Bahater, Attock district of Pakistan. Najran Cement has successfully completed maintenance and resumed operations of Kiln Line 2.
