Hungary: Magyarország plant invests in alternative fuels storage facility30 December 2014, Published under Cement NewsLafarge Cement Magyarország opened a storage facility for waste that will be used to help fuel its plant in Királyegyháza, southwestern Hungary. The project, involving an investment of HUF700m (EUR2.2m), will be used to store plastic, rubber and industrial and farm byproducts. Lafarge Cement Magyarország employs 130 people, and reported revenues of HUF8.3bn last year. |

Hungarian concrete firms fined EUR9m09 July 2014, Published under Cement NewsEight ready-mixed concrete companies and the Hungarian Concrete Association were fined a total HUF2.79bn (EUR9m) for setting prices and colluding on market share by the country’s competition office, the Gazdasági Versenyhivatal (GVH). The GVH said the cartel activity took place between 2005 and 2007 and cited the fact that meetings were held in high secrecy as an aggravating factor. Lafarge-Strabag complete test runs at new Hungary works28 February 2012, Published under Cement NewsLafarge and Strabag have successfully completed a test run at their Kiralyegyhaza cement plant in south west Hungary which they completed last autumn, Lafarge Cement Cement Magyarorszag managing director, Frederic Aubet, said at a press conference.
