Huaxin Cement plant, a Chinese-Nepali joint venture, at Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality in Dhading, Nepal laid the foundation stone for its new plant on 1 March 2019.

Nepal's Speaker of House of Representatives, Krishna Bahadur Mahara (1st R), and Vice President of China's Huaxin Cement, Xu Gang (2nd R), attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony.

This is the second plant for the Chinese-Nepali joint venture in the domestic cement industry after Hongshi-Shivam Cement, formally began operations in Palpa, Nepal in 2018.

According to plan, the cement plant, with the investment of NPR15bn (US$140m) and a cement production capacity of 3000tpd, will be constructed within one year. Previously, CemNet had reported that the new plant would be constructed in 18 months.

China's Huaxin Company informed that the industry would provide employment to 300 local people directly and to 1000 people indirectly.
