Sheriff's Office to investigate Holly Hill cement plant  fatality

Orangeburg County Chief Deputy Coroner, Sean D Fogle, reported that on Tuesday Lennox W Hinckson, 65, died in a work-related incident at the Holcim (US) Inc Holly Hill cement plant, South Carolina, USA. The immediate cause of death was not available but the manner of death was ruled accidental.

Officials with the Mine Safety and Health Administration and the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office are investigating. Witnesses said Hinckson, a contract worker, fell from the preheater tower, according to reports in WIS News 10.

This is the first death at the Holly Hill cement plant since 2008. Last year, there were 28 nationwide fatalities reports WIS News 10.
