Aalborg Portland signs 5-year transport deal

Denmark-based Aalborg Portland has signed a five-year cement transport agreement with Demstrup Autotransport and Silo Trans. The two firms will carry out the more than 33,000 transports annually to complete the cement producer’s distribution of more than 1.25Mta of cement.

Two new calciners have been designed and delivered by A TEC to Cementir's Aalborg Portland cement plant at Rørdal during the annual kiln stop in February/March 2017. The project aims to increase the production of grey clinker by modifying the 4500tpd semi-dry kiln system which was originally commissioned in 1988. Aalborg Portland close to sealing Belgian acquisition

Danish cement company Aalborg Portland has acquired Belgian cement company Compagnie des Ciments Belges (CCB) for DKK2.30bn (US$349.81m). Søren Holm Christensen, finance director in the Nordic and Baltic region of Cementir Holding, has been appointed managing director for its subsidiary, Unicon A/S in Denmark, as of 1 September 2015.
