Sri Lanka’s Tokyo Cement group said September quarter net profit fell 43 per cent to INR158m from a year ago, according to a stock exchange filing. India: Binani Ind cancels share swap with Binani Cement, Zinc

Binani Industries Ltd said on Tuesday its board had decided to recall a plan to swap its shares with Binani Zinc Ltd and Binani Cement Ltd, due to a change in valuation of the cement unit. The installed capacity of Binani Cement has risen to up to 6Mta from 2.2Mta at the time of the filing of the scheme in 1995, the company said in a statement.

Benue Cement Company (BCC) Plc, a subsidiary of Dangote Industries Limited, has announced its third quarter results for the period January 1, 2008, to September 30, 2008, reporting a 118.81per cent increase in turnover, compared to the same period in 2007. Egypt Sinai Cement none-month pre-tax profit up four per cent

Egypt’s Sinai Cement reported a four per cent rise in pre-tax profit for the first nine months of 2008 to EGP298.1m (US$53.9m, the stock exchange said on Sunday. The statement did not provide a reason for the rise. In a separate statement, the company said it approved doubling its issued capital to EGP700m. Egypt’s Misr Beni Suef Cement  reported a 5.6 per cent rise in net profit for the first nine months of 2008 to EGP223.3m (US$40.34m) the stock exchange said on Sunday. It did not give further details in a statement on its website. (US$1= EGP5.535).
