Poland's monthly cement output rises 13.1% YoY

Poland reported a double-digit rise in cement production during November 2013. However, cement sales slipped marginally during the month. November cement output totalled 1.291Mt, up by 13.1 per cent YoY, according to the country’s cement association, SPC. Cement sales, meanwhile, fell by 2.2 per cent to 1.204Mt. For the 11 months to November 2013, cement output declined by 9.5 per cent to 13.606Mt, while sales dropped by 10.5 per cent to 13.867Mt.  

Iran cement output rises in first eight months

Iran produced 50.2Mt of cement in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, representing a 2.2 per cent YoY rise.   In the eighth calendar month of Aban (ended November 21), output amounted to 5.65Mt.   Some 39.8Mt of cement were supplied to the domestic market in the eight-month period.   The cement output is projected to reach 80Mt by the end of the year, the secretary of Iranian cement industry employers Abdolreza Sheikhan has said.

Holcim’s Kolomna plant in Russia produced 1Mta of clinker for the first time in 2013 on the new production line on November 24 at 3.00am. The company attributed the achievements to the coordinated efforts of production staff as well as maintenance and support services. In July this year, the company reached another significant high, having produced a record monthly volume of grey cement of 239,885t.

Vietnam's November output climbs

Vietnam produced 5.5Mt of cement in November, up 17 per cent from the month before and a rise of 9.7 per cent YoY, the government's General Statistics Office said. The office also revised down the country’s cement output in October to 4.7Mt from the earlier estimated figure of 5.2Mt. In the first 11 months of this year, companies in Vietnam are estimated to produce 51.5Mt of cement, up 4.7 per cent from a year earlier.

Saudi October sales rise by 2%

Saudi cement sales rose by two per cent during October 2013 to 4.91Mt compared with 4.13Mt in the same period a year ago. Production for the month reached 4.24Mt compared to 4.22Mt in October 2013, a report, based on data released by Yamamah Cement Co (YCC), said. Iran increases cement output

Iran's cement output is projected to reach 80Mt by the end of the year, the secretary of Iranian cement industry employers, Abdolreza Sheikhan, has said. In the first 10 months, Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sales rose by 9.2 per cent YoY to 17.65Mt, including a significant rise in exports.
