Indian producer Ambuja Cements said sales rose 4.73 per cent to 1.55Mt in September from 1.48Mt in the same month a year ago, the company said in a statement. The company reported growth of 6.85 per cent in cement production at 1.56Mt, compared to 1.46Mt in September 2011. ACC Ltd, part of the Holcim Group, reported that its production in September rose by nine per cent to 1.82Mt from  1.67Mt in the same month of 2011. In August 2012, grey cement production in Colombia reached 939,600t, representing a growth of 0.2 per cent over the same period of 2011, according to data released by Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadistica (Dane). Cement sales in Vietnam for the first eight months of 2012 fell 3.38 per cent to 30.58Mt, against the same period of last year and fulfilling 55.6 per cent of the full-year target, the country’s Ministry of Construction said. Spanish cement consumption for the first eight months of 2012 has declined by 34.3 per cent YoY to 9.56Mt, according to the latest data from Spanish cement association Oficemen. Vietnam produced 31.59Mt of cement in the first eight months of this year, down two per cent from a year earlier, the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA) said. Katavsky Cement, part of Russian market leader Eurocement Group, produced 146,008t of cement in August 2012, surpassing last year’s record of 138,005t.
