Polish monthly output declines 1.1% YoY

Cement output in Poland slipped slightly on an annual comparative basis by 1.1 per cent to 1.616Mt in September, data from the country’s cement association, SPC, said. However, cement sales rose 2.1 per cent YoY to 1.604Mt.? For the first nine months of 2013, cement output declined by 13.3 per cent to 10.709Mt, while sales dropped by 12.6 per cent to 10.899Mt.

Iranian cement output continues to climb

Iran has reported a four per cent rise in cement output in the first half of the current Iranian calendar compared to the same period of last year. Cement producers in Vietnam increased their output 13 per cent MoM and 17.6 per cent YoY to 5.2Mta in September, according to the country’s General Statistics Office (GSO). PT Semen Baturaja anticipates third-quarter 2013 production and sales to rise by 14 and seven per cent YoY, respectively, but full-year sales are expected to fall short of an earlier target. Cement shipments in the Peruvian market totalled 6.701Mt between January and August 2013, reflecting a 9.87 per cent increase YoY, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Cement production and sales in Poland have seen a double-digit drop in the first eight months of the year, latest data from the country’s cement association, SPC, shows. Between January-August 2013, cement output declined by 15.2 per cent to 9.092Mt while sales were down by 14.8 per cent to 9.295Mt. In August alone, production in Poland fell by 1.9 per cent YoY in August 2013 to 1.576Mt. Sales for the month declined by 3.9 per cent to 1.616Mt.
