Colombia cement market expands 10.2% in June

Colombia’s cement dispatches rose 10.2 per cent YoY in June to 1.0121Mt as building companies and contractors increased their demand by 25.8 per cent. Cement production reached 1.0292Mt, up 4.9 per cent when compared with June 2014. In the first half of 2015 the Colombian cement market expanded by 6.6 per cent YoY to 6.0674Mt. Peru cement market contracts 3% in June

Cement consumption in Peru fell by three per cent in June, according to the country’s cement producers’ association, Asocem. A rise in exports limited the decline in total cement sales to 2.6 per cent. Output from domestic cement plants decreased by 6.2 per cent. Senegal cement sales up 0.7% in 5M15

Demand for cement in Senegal edged up 0.7 per cent YoY to 1,432,100t in January-May 2015, according to national Planning and Economic Study Directorate. Production in the first five months of 2015 increased 9.6 per cent to 2,444,100t when compared with 2,230,800t noted in 5M14. Output was buoyed by a 26 per cent YoY rise in exports, which surpassed the 1Mt mark at 1,050,400t during the five-month period.

BaselCement produced just over 1Mt of cement and clinker in the first half of 2015, up four per cent YoY, according to the statement. "Significant growth in production was achieved at Serebryansk Cement Plant: the enterprise produced almost 650,000t of cement in the first half. Cement production in Poland increased by 4.1 per cent YoY to 1.55Mt in June, while sales were up by 7.2 per cent to 1.59Mt, Poland's Cement Producer Association said in a statement. Year-to-date production rose by 2.1 per cent YoY to 7.19Mt. Year-to-date sales were up by 2.5 per cent to 7.33Mt.

Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade announced on Sunday that in the first three months of this year cement and clinker production reached 15.77Mt and 19.26Mt, respectively. Armenia cut its cement exports 2.5-fold to 73,000t in 2014, down from 185,200t in 2013, according to a report by ARMINFO News (Armenia).
