India: Sagar production rates fall

Sagar Cements’ reported production and sales figures for June 2016 are down when compared to the figures from June 2015. Cement production stood at 130,035t in June 2016, a one per cent drop from the 130,905t reported in June 2015. Sales figures for the month stood at 123,409t, down 20 per cent from 154,032t reported in the same month the previous year. Bolivia: Itacamba’s highest production figures

Bolivian cement producer Itacamba Cemento has reported its highest ever production figure of cement, reaching 20,006t in June 2016 and breaking its previous record of 18,764.65t reported in August 2007. The firm intends to begin production at its Yacuses plant towards in the second half of 2016. Clinker production at the plant should begin in November and cement production in December.

Ukraine: cement production in May rises 6.7%

Ukraine's State Statistics Service reports that in May 2016, production increased by 6.7 per cent compared to April. For the period January-May 2016 cement production increased by 11.4 per cent against January-May 2015 to 3.24Mt. However, production of cement in May decreased by 0.8 per cent when compared to 875,000t in May 2015. Peru cement demand up 1.4% in May

Peru’s cement consumption increased by 1.4 per cent YoY in May, according to the Asociación de Productores de Cemento. Total deliveries, which include exports, increased 1.9 per cent. Production slipped 0.2 per cent when compared with May 2015. “During the fifth month of 2016, cement production fell slightly but national and total dispatches continued to grow,” said the cement association.

Venezuela: output at 16% of year forecast

Venezuelan cement producers have manufactured around 112,000t of cement in May, according to El Mundo or some 16 per cent of the forecast year total. Industria Venezolana de Cemento (Invecem) reported an output of 52,522 while Venezolana de Cementos (Vencemos) produced 42,200t of its planned 266,000t. Colombia's market expands 5.9% in April

Cement dispatches in Colombia rose 5.9 per cent to 1.05Mt in April 2015, according to the country’s statistics office, Dane. Cement production in April reached 1.1Mt, up five per cent YoY and the highest output for April in the past eight years. By region, the department of Córdoba saw the highest increase in cement demand at 27.8 per cent, followed by Risaralda, with 20.8 per cent. Antioquia was reporting a variation of 9.5 per cent. Peru: cement market expands 1.8% YoY in April

Peru’s cement demand increased 1.8 per cent YoY in April to 781,000t, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. This reversed the previous month’s fall of 1.4 per cent. Cement output in April expanded by 7.5 per cent YoY to 831,000t. Some 29,000t of this volume was exported, reflecting an eight per cent decrease when compared with April 2015. In addition, 23,000t of clinker was exported – some 17 per cent below the April 2015 level.

Vietnam sees output rise 16% in Jan-Apr 2016

Vietnam cement producers have produced 24.4Mt of cement in Jan-Apr 2016, up 15.8 per cent YoY, according to estimates from the government-run General Statistics Office. In April 2016 output is expected to have risen 12.5 per cent when compared to April 2015, said the organisation in a report.
